Copies of assignments may be found either in the daily work folders on the bulletin board OR the class drawers underneath the bulletin board.

 

Course Description:

To be prepared for careers in agribusiness systems, students need to attain academic skills and knowledge, acquire technical knowledge and skills related to agribusiness marketing and management and the workplace, and develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations. To prepare for success, students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, and transfer their knowledge and skills in a variety of settings. This course is designed to provide a foundation to agribusiness management and the free enterprise system. Instruction includes the use of economic principles such as supply and demand, budgeting, record keeping, finance, risk management, business law, marketing, and careers in agribusiness.

 

Course Objectives:

  1. The student learns the employability characteristics of a successful employee in the field of agriculture, food, and natural resources.
  2. The student recognizes roles within teams, work units, departments, organizations, inter-organizational systems, and the larger environment.
  3. The student examines critical aspects of career opportunities in one or more agriculture, food, and natural resources careers.
  4. The student defines and examines agribusiness management and marketing and its importance to the local and international economy.
  5. The student defines the importance of records and budgeting in agribusiness.
  6. The student describes issues related to government policy and recognizes concepts related to cultural diversity.
  7. The student defines key issues of agribusiness success and failure.
  8. The student describes the marketing of agricultural products.
  9. The student knows the efficiency aspects of agribusiness management.
  10. The student develops an improved supervised agriculture experience program as it relates to agriculture, food, and natural resources.

You and your parent/guardian need to read over the Class Guidelines brochure.  After reading it, both you and your parent/guardian need to sign somewhere on the brochure and send it back to Ms. Srp.  This is a daily grade.  If it is not turned in by the end of your class period on Friday, September 7th, it WILL be a zero.
