Course Descriptions

The Orange Grove Course Guide is designed to familiarize you with the following:
  • courses
  • prerequisites
  • grade levels
  • course descriptions
  • credit units
You should read the entire bulletin thoroughly. This will facilitate your conference with our staff members concerning your course selections and your high school academic program.

The senior class of 2016-2017 is still under the Minimum, Recommended, and Distinguished plans.
Each of these programs are described in this Course Guide. Courses for each of these programs are offered in our school. Please keep your graduation requirements in mind when you plan your high school program.

The following information only applies to our current freshman, sophomores, and juniors:

Our district now requires all students to graduate under the Foundation Plan with at least one endorsement.  The only way a student can graduate Foundation plan without an endorsement is if the student qualifies under IDEA and/or has a special committee approval.

The advantages of graduating with an endorsement is that you are eligible to be accepted into a university (if you meet their requirements and guidelines.)  If you graduate Foundation only, you have to start at a community college before transferring to a university.

Another advantage is that you could be eligible for the Texas Grant and countless other scholarships.
